The former Iowa star Owen Freeman transfers to Creighton
The former serial number of the Big Ten of the year Owen Freeman engaged in Creighton on Wednesday, less than two weeks after entering the transfer portal, announced on social media.
Freeman, a 6 -foot center and 10, has played the last two seasons in Iowa and is classified as the overall player n. 8 in the transfer portal and in the high -level center available from 247Sports. This year, Freeman started 19 games and scored on average 16.7 points and 6.7 rebounds to guide the eye eye on both categories. He lost the last 14 games after undergoing surgery to repair a broken finger on the right hand. Freeman will have two years of eligibility left in Creighton.
As a serial number, Freeman marked on average 10.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.8 blocks while earning nine Big Ten Freshman of the Week Honours, the second most in the history of the League. One of the best players of Big Ten, Freeman has reached double figures in scoring in every game this season.
Freeman chose to leave the Iowa after coach Fran McCaffery was fired on March 14th. He is one of the seven players of Iowa in the transfer portal. The former Iowa teammate Josh Dix, a junior guard, is n. 4 in total from 247Sports and is weighing Creighton, Kansas and perhaps returning to Iowa and the new coach Ben McCollum.
In Creighton, Freeman is lined up to replace Ryan Kalkbrenner, an elderly from 7 feet-1, the four-time defensive player of the Big East of the year that marked on average 19.2 points and 8.7 rebounds in 35 games this season. The Blue Jays finished 25-11 after a defeat from Auburn in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
