Daria Kasatkina, born in Russian, changes loyalty to Australia

Russian tennis star Daria Kasatkina is changing alliances in Australia after her demand for permanent residence has been accepted by the government.
The world n. 12 played the tour as a neutral athlete after Russian and Belarusian players were prohibited by competing under their flags following the invasion of Moscow Ukraine in 2022.
In an Instagram post, Kasatkina expressed her joy in earning permanent residence in Australia.
“I am pleased to let you know that my demand for permanent residence was accepted by the Australian government.
“Australia is a place that I love, it is incredibly welcoming and a place where I feel totally at home.
“I love being in Melbourne and I can’t wait to take home.

“As part of this, I am proud to announce that I will represent my new homeland in Australia, in my career of professional tennis from this point onwards.”
The 27 -year -old increased to number 8 in the world and won eight WTA titles: his best result of the Grand Slam reached the Open of France, where he reached the semifinals in 2022.
