High score games that bring new fans to the Premiership, the club’s bosses say

The rugby that runs with a high score and high-e-tong is precisely what the Premiership “needs”, according to Gloucester and Bristol after sharing 81 points and 13 attempts in Kingsholm on Saturday.
Gloucester spread to the West country derby, scoring nine attempts In a 53-28 victory above the bears.
Some wondered if the search for the Flair attack is coming to the detriment for the defense, but the director of the rugby of Rugby Pat Lam of Bristol said that the style is bringing more fans into play.
“I think you only have to look at the crowd of Bristol (against the Exeter garments) last week, the crowd of Gloucester (Saturday),” he told BBC Sport.
“Rugby liked, we are enjoying rugby. I’m quite sure that everyone speak of these caterpillars (Rucks), these boxing parties (-kicking).
“The purists may not like me, but it’s not about purists. These are young people, these are people who have fun coming to the games.”
The game was played in front of a crowd of ability to Gloucester and Lam added that attracting new fans is important for the future of the game.
“We exhausted here, we had our second largest crowd last week, our match against Bath (at the Stadium of the Principality in May), the building of the crowd there,” he said.
“People want to have fun. Our game needs people who come to rugby. They are quite confident that Gloucester will continue to sell off because they are playing an excellent rugby.
“You will always make people complain, but I would look more at the positive aspects in which people love and have fun, in particular children, is what I like because it is our future.”
