Maryland Governor to consider the Commission for Schiavitu repairs
A Maryland Bill The creation of a commission to study and recommend potential slavery repairs is now at the desk of the democratic governor Wes Moore.

The measure, which was an absolute priority for Maryland legislative Caucus, also tries to study the persistent effects of racial discrimination in the state.

Moore, who is the first black governor of Maryland, did not say if he signs the measure, only he will consider it.

“I said and affirmed for a long time that the history of racism in this state is real,” he told journalists, adding that the impacts “are still very felt and have been structured structurally in the state of Maryland”.
