China Retaliates Against Trump With 34% Tariff on U.S. Goods

The Chinese government will correspond to the plan of President Trump for rates of 34 % on goods from China with its rates of 34 % on imports from the United States, the Chinese Finance Ministry said on Friday.

Separately, the Chinese Ministry of Commerce said that it was adding 11 American companies to its list of “unreliable entities”, essentially preventing them from doing business in China or with Chinese companies. And the Ministry has imposed rigorous limits on the exports of some elements of the rare earth which are extracted almost exclusively in China and are used in everything, from electric cars to intelligent bombs.

The Chinese customs agency has also said that it will stop chicken imports from some American agricultural exporters.

As a whole, the measures issued by three different government agencies in a few minutes have shown that China has no intention of retreating in the commercial war that Mr. Trump started this week with its strong rates on imports from all over the world.
