Scotland Play-off Clin to Curling Worlds

Scotland has made sure to progress towards the play-offs at the men’s World Curling Championship with a huge 6-1 victory over Germany.
With a game left in the round-rock, the Bruce Mouat track has a record of eight wins and three defeats, behind only Host Nation Canada.
Germany, led by Marc Muskatewitz, had surprised the Scottish in the final of the European championship of this season, but found himself following three after the first end.
Mouat, looking for a fourth medal worldwide, has always had control and the Germans have granted after losing two others in the seventh goal.
Scotland completes their Round-Robin campaign against China, which are also competing for a play-off point after upsetting South Korea for 10-1 for a seventh ice victory of the jaw Moose.
“It’s always nice to get the Q before the end of the round-rock,” Mouat said.
“We feel as if we were starting to take a step forward and play a little better, increasing our game a little, so we feel like we were in a good place.
“We have a difficult game against China later, then in the play -offs where we are not sure of those who will play again, but we are trying to continue that form that we showed against Germany there, because it was one of our best games of the week.”
The Olympic qualifying points obtained from the championships last year will be added to the final total of this year, with the first seven parts that earn qualifying for Milan-Cortina in 2026, together with the masters of Casa Italia.
Those who cannot guarantee their place will have another chance to do it through a qualifying tournament at the end of the year.
