Western Australia Premier Roger Cook accuses nrl of treating the state as a “cash cow” after revealing the expansion negotiations

“I love the rugby alloy, but as I said during the elections, I will always do what is right for WA.”
At the beginning of this week, Cook ordered that he wanted the Albanian government to stop for a stadium in his attempt to establish a team nrl. The Federal Government has already committed $ 600 million in a decade to finance a PNG team in the NRL since 2028, as part of soft diplomacy in the Pacific to fight China’s ascent in the region.
However, further federal funding seem to be a controversial point after the offer that the state has put on the NRL was below the sign.

It is the last setback in the offer of the headquarters to give Perth their team since the Western Reds have become victims of the Super League war almost three decades ago. The NRL rejected a private consortium led by the Boss of the Case converters Peter Cummini after opting not to offer a license fee. The Rugby League Central had sought a figure of about $ 20 million at the time.
This led to the NRL to negotiate directly with the WA government, which has recently been re -elected. The officials of the League were looking for an investment of about $ 120 million during a decade for Perth to join the competition.

If the price had been satisfied, the plan was for the nrl to manage the team in its foundations years before delivering control to club members and elected directors.
The WA government was to help with infrastructure paths and projects, including an update of the Perth HBF stadium from a home of 27,500 seats to 27,000 seats.
However, the breakdown of the interviews comes just as the NRL hosts a double head to the Optus Stadium in Perth, where Cronulla will face Manly and the Rabbito collide with the Cowboys.
The decision to enter the next transmission cycle, which begins in 2028, with only 18 teams would have enormous implications for the game. If Perth had joined PNG, there would have been a crazy scramble to play talents, while the existing clubs would have sought compensation in the expectation that the game would generate more money.
