Aaron Glenn has a plan to fix the culture of jets – begins with silence

West Palm Beach, Fla. – Aaron Glenn appreciates the sound of silence.

While the NFL World float during the annual championship meeting this week – Chatter regarding Bans “Tush Push” And Aaron Rodgers’ Prolonged flirts with the Pittsburgh Steelers – Glenn floated through the lively common areas of the Hotel Breakers not appreciated by disputes or distractions. Two years ago, all that anyone who wanted to know was when the New York Jets were finally exchanging for Rodgers. Now, few in the whole League seem to worry about the jets and what they are doing, even if the owner Woody Johnson cannot help but create A title or two “Fasulli”.

That’s all about Glenn’s Grand Design, the desire for an organization, often for his dysfunction to fly under the radar for once. Johnson and the various general directors and coaches who have arrived over the years have often sought titles. Glenn – at least for now – prefers to avoid them.

This is a new era of Jets Football, an organization under construction in the image of one of its own, a former pick of the first round and a Pro Bowl player who went up the coaching scale just in time to return when the organization needed him more. If the jets find the way by relevance, he will start with Glenn. According to everyone, Johnson and the whole organization are following his advantage in an attempt to set a culture that has not been described in a positive light over the years.

“This must not be a great Hoopla of what we are doing,” Glenn said on Monday. “We just have to do business and train these players and try to create an atmosphere for players who are totally different from what they have been used to, and it is something I want to create … I want to move in silence, friend and go around our activities. So they really don’t go to do. What do you do during the season.”

The jets tried various lies of the coach head: the players’ coach (Robert Saleh), the offensive innovator (Adam Gase), the defensive stalwart (Todd Bowles), the Rah-Rah (Rex Ryan) regulations. Glenn is all this and it is none of this. He is a manufacturer. And his plan is to fix the jets by building bricks for bricks.

“In my opinion you must be able to do what you need to do to build it from scratch,” said the leader of Lions Dan Campbell. “AG has been around some phenomenal coaches – and I’m not talking about me – but Bill Parcells, Sean Payton, and this boy takes it. It was the best to build and support. So you need a leader, man, and you need a guy who can be responsible. There is no doubt.

THE Jets had a quiet free agencyadding a Signature class Almost entirely made up of Under 30 players. The Quarterback Justin Fields was the signing of “splash” of the team, a first dynamic choice of the first round, but it was a backup for most of the last season. The Cornerback Brandon Stephens allowed the second moved construction sites on the coverage of any defensive last season. The safety Andre Cisco forced zero invoiced in 2024 after forced five in 2023. The defensive end Rashad Weaver has no zero bags since 2022. The wide receiver Josh Reynolds played only in nine games last season. The defensive attack Derrick Nnadi barely played for Chiefs last year after many years as an appetizer.

The jets have never seriously persecuted any of the free agents most prices in this class: Glenn and the general manager Darren Mougey believe that it is not the right way to go to offseason. Instead, they bought younger players with something to prove.

“It’s a game of a young man,” Glenn said. “I have always been taught that you cannot be afraid of the young player. I think what you are able to do whether you are able to model these guys in whoever you want to and what type of team you want to be.”

The offseason of the jets was an investment in Glenn, in its staff and their belief that they can get the most out of anyone who has a talent that is worth developing.

“This is what we do as coaches: developing,” said Glenn. “I think the trait n. 1 that you are looking for in a coach is able to teach, the second is to be able to develop. I say to our staff: do I want free agents to play like Picks. They develop?

Glenn is trying to create a culture, a new one. Saleh created a designed to allow players to lead alone; It didn’t work. No player is the face of the New York Jets, Glenn is. The goal is to maintain the problems of the past – namely the lack of responsibility from top to bottom – in the past.

Glenn is driving that accusation now.

“If you pull on something he has done here and look at him, this boy is an incredible teacher, he is a motivator, he is all focused on the details and it is responsibility,” said Campbell. “If he has something in mind, he is not different from what they are – he will say. He won’t brush it under the carpet, he will make you know. I think it is important and I think it is sometimes lost, everyone assumes only if you are considering the people responsible, this means that you are a hole.

Glenn also brought that energy behind the scenes. It has a clearly defined plan and is not shy in clarifying, whether it is a player, a coach, a front office manager or even conversations with journalists. It is also clear with Johnson, and that relationship in the end will decide if Glenn becomes the coach to shoot the jets and pull them out of a 14 -year -old Skid in duration without a playoff place.

So far it works. Johnson, according to everyone, was undoubtedly, his children are not involved in the decision -making process and Mougey and Glenn have been authorized to create the team in their image.

“If you met Aaron, you know what will do,” Johnson said. “You have seen his personality. It’s all football, responsibility, he is a very direct person. He has had a success for life and has had an extraordinary career … he is a different guy. He is a football player, so he has that authenticity that you cannot invent. You are or you are not. The leadership comes that way, so I am very impressed by Aaron and if someone can change something and you cannot invent.

Patience will be a virtue. Most sports books placed the jets victories in Over/under in 2025 at 5.5, one of the lowest of the NFL, in the same company as Titans, Browns and Giants, the three worst teams in 2024 record. The 2025 season could become disconnected. But it will not be the end of the world – or should not be, if the jets attach themselves to the Glenn plan, if Johnson remains patient.

Next week, Jets will begin voluntary training at their structure in Florham Park. Glenn will find himself in front of the team – not the entire list, but largely – for the first time and exhibits his expectations. We will not talk about victories and losses, playoffs and Super Bowls. This is noise.

“I’m not here to talk about the Super Bowl, I’m not here to talk about the playoffs or all this when the players enter for the first time,” said Glenn. “For me it is the process of actually reaching at that point. Two things that I want to make sure to do first is to establish a culture that we talked about and try to build an environment … We have a lot of time for the scheme, we have time to talk about the super bowl and the playoffs, but right now building a culture, building an environment is the most important thing for me.”

Campbell said, “If he can’t (turn it) nobody can”.
