Alphonso Davies injury: Bayern Munich accuses Canada Soccer of “negligence”

He added: “The way things went down were not correct. We are the employer and we also pay the players, so we will investigate”.
In an interview with the German newspaper Bild, the CEO of Bayern Jan-Christian Dresen said that the club wanted a “complete clarification of events”, accusing Canadian football of “serious negligence” and saying “we reserve the right to undertake legal actions”.
He continued: “Send a player obviously wounded with a damaged knee on an intercontinental flight of twelve hours without an in -depth medical evaluation is, in our opinion, seriously negligent and a clear violation of the duty of medical treatment.
“Phonzy (Davies) is not guilty, he is the captain and wants to take responsibility. Canada as the host nation of the 2026 World Cup has already qualified, you cannot take risks with a player like him.”
Davies signed a new five -year contract with the club in February to end the speculation that connected it to Real Madrid.
Bayern also lost the French central defender Dayot Upamecano due to a long -term leg injury during the international break and remains without the captain Manuel Neuer.
