Arsenal 3-0 Real Madrid: “A result that will stand out in the Russian mountain campaign”

Arsenal needed something special to book their place in the Champions League female semifinals and how they produced it.
THE Win 3-0 based on Real Madrid Wednesday, who sealed a 3-2 victory over the aggregate, was probably the most significant result under the manager Renee Slegers so far.
Six months ago, when he replaced Jonas Eidevall, then as an interim boss, the Arsenal season seemed destined to be a great disappointment.
Now they are between the elite, they are preparing to face a record of eight times European champions Lyon – trained by the former head of Arsenal Joe Montemurro – for a place in the final.
“It’s important for the club and players,” Slegers said. “They are part of Arsenal because they want to go far into tournaments, win things and be on the biggest stage.
“So it’s important for us. I am very happy with the result and we are going to the semifinal.”
Alessia Russo was the star in a magical night at the Emirates Stadium while scored twice and excluded two more goals for offside.
The teammate in England Chloe Kelly grabbed two assists, with the Spain striker Mariona Caldentey who joined Russo on the report during a ruthless display of the second half that saw the Gunners mark three times in 13 minutes.
It was only the second time that a club overturned a first two-governed deficit in the quarter-finals of the competition, with Arsenal who did it against Torres in 2004, losing 2-0 before a 4-1 house success.
“Without a doubt, that the Arsenal team ran throughout Real Madrid,” said the former England captain Steph Houghton at the BBC Radio 5 Live.
“In those 13 minutes, where they scored three goals, they were absolutely relentless and that’s what you need to be at this level. They were exceptional.”
