Arsenal’s Gabriel, Jurrien Timber to evaluate after suffering injuries in Fulham

The Manager of Arsenal Mikel Arte states that defenders Gabriel and Jurrien Timber will be evaluated after injuries during the victory of Tuesday’s Premier League for Fulham.
Gabriel had to have been withdrawn in the 16th minute of the match at the Emirates stadium. The Brazilian had come down a few minutes later and seemed to keep the back of the right leg, before he was treated on the pitch and at the end limp.
In the meantime, the timber initially seemed to be injured around the half hour sign, but was able to continue after receiving treatments. The Dutchman then went down again in 70 minutes and was unable to continue, with Leandro Trossard who replaced him.
“We don’t know how they will be,” Artata said in his post-match press conference. “We will evaluate them tomorrow.”
“If there are two players in this team who never want to go out, they are probably those two. Gabi has heard something in his knee tendon. We don’t know how big it is. With Jurrien, he was already fighting very early in the game. He managed to continue but at some point he could not. Jurrien was his knee.
“The good thing is that it was like this for the whole season. See Martinelli today and we missed for three months. We lost Bukayo for four months, Kai for four months, Gabi Jesus throughout the season. As we managed to do a next week.
“You can imagine with those four players in the defensive line in a week. So (Riccardo) Calafiori, Ben White, Jurrien and Gabriel Magalhaes. We still have four others who are so bloody willing that will do their job.”
Jakub Kiwior replaced Gabriel against Fulham, with the 25 year old who made his first appearance in the Premier League since 8 December was a unused replacement for 14 consecutive games since then.
Arsenal already has to do with lesions in defense, with Calafiori for “weeks” with an injury that underwent in Italy last month and Takehiro Tomiyasu is not expected to return this calendar year after having undergone a knee surgery in February. White also lost the Fulham game with what Arte described the pre-match as “a little niggers two days ago”.
Gabriel has lost only four games for Arsenal this season, making 39 departures in all competitions and two replacement apparitions in the early rounds of the Carabao Cup. Timber also characterized 41 times for Arsenal, starting each of the 26 championship matches for which it was available from the opening day.
Mikel Merino and the return of Bukayo Saka scored the goals of Arsenal against Fulham, with Rodrigo Muniz who scored a consolation goal for visitors.
The return of the Arsenal on Saturday when they travel to Goodison Park to face Everton. They therefore welcome Real Madrid north of London on the following Tuesday.
