Australian High Jumper Eleanor Patterson embraces the change in research to get at ease over two meters in front of the Maurie Meet 2025 plant

“Among the three of us, it seems that we share the medals and we took away every color, I think. Along my journey with the last five main championships, I came away with a medal to each.
“It would be incredible to win in Tokyo this year (at the World Championships), but of course, you are against some incredible athletes and all respect for them.”
Patterson hasn’t been competing in Melbourne since he went to that series of five winners of the medal. The last time he competed in his domestic capital was a shy athlete who worked part-time in a bakery in Leongatha, but announced in the world in his sport.
Now he lives in Turin with his boyfriend Marco Fassinotti, also a high sweater. He changed his coach and, perhaps more radically, changed the way he jumps.
“I have completely changed my race. Since last year, I also changed the coaches. I moved to the other side of the world, so I changed a lot. At the end of the season, I decided to change the coaches and moved to live mainly in Italy,” he said.
“I had lived there for a while before. My partner is Italian, and he is a high sweater … We were together for quite a while, and I was just ready for a change, so I decided to move from that side of the world.

“I am training with him and we are working under (Alex) ‘Fuz’ Caan, who is an English coach, who is actually working from the Saudi Arabia of all the places at this moment. Strangely, I have not met Fuzz (in person). He is my coach, and it was for the last, what, five months. So writes my program and is able to cope with technical sessions.
“I completely changed my run-up. I had a really long eight knee leap, and now I have a standing level, which does not mean much for most people.”
Basically, he was walking at the beginning of his race. Now he is like a pole and puts himself in a race in 10 phases at the bar.
“It seems to work. The tests are in the pudding. So far I have competed three times for 194 cm, 199 cm (e) 197cm.

“I was ready for a change.”
Patterson has reached the point of her career in which 1.97 m is becoming the minimum for her to Major Compgs.

“I think this year I can certainly create 1.97 at least. This is still the intention. And I am in a position to do it.
“Two meters is a barrier for a reason. It is a point of reference for a reason. This is certainly the goal of this season to jump over two meters and get comfortable in that height. I feel ready to be ready, and I feel like I was in the condition to be able to jump two meters.”
Patterson will compete in the upper jump in the Maurie plant in Melbourne on Saturday evening. The Australian gout of the sensation of sprints in the world in the 200 meters titles of the meeting, which is almost exhausted with about 8000 tickets taken.
