Because Jake Raojevic would prefer to abandon nrl rather than playing against Manly Sea Eagles

Roomvic, his brother Tom and Cherry-Evans were the faces of the sea eagles for the best part of a decade. Jake has been at the club for 12 years, while Cherry-Evans is at his 15th season.
It remains to be seen how Cherry-Evans is welcomed by fans in what will be a pines park full of 4 Sunday afternoon when the Sea Eagles face Parramatta.
His teammates did not suspect what was revealed on Monday, admitting Raijevic: “It was a bit of a shock; I certainly didn’t see him arrive. It’s a little crazy.
“If that’s what he wants to do, we respect him and we will go on. This club does not concern a person or something, the club has been around for a long time and (it will continue) to be around for a long time later.
“We have to move and we will be fine.

“I discovered on Monday during the day; he told some of the boys. It was nothing more than what he said on TV. He said it would be his last year and as they said (the club) in December.
“I am very optimistic about our season. We had a good start, we were a bit incompatible with two great victories and one not great performance (against the Warriors), which has been the story in recent years.
“I will continue to lead the way I do. I hope I will be captain next year. It would be a real honor and I would do this club proud.”
