Bondi junction junction investigation but necessary
Twelve months after the terror took place in Sydney’s Bondi Junction Shopping Center, questions about the murderous adventure of a man about innocent buyers remain and what he could have been asked to prevent it.
Joel Cauchi, 40, stabbed six people fatally – New Mother and Osteophat Ashlee Good, 38; Dawn Singleton bridal, 25; Artist Pikria Darchia, 55; Architect Jade Young, 47 years old; Economics student Yixuan Cheng, 27 years old; And the security guard of Westfield Faraz Tahir, 30 years old. The pain caused by the murderous attack of Cauchi on April 13, 2024 remains deep and raw.

In the midst of death and horror that Saturday emerged stories of heroism and good will. There was the unforgettable movie of the Inspector of the New Wales of South South Police Amy Scott, who, as the first officer on the scene, ran to the danger of facing the striker who brandishes the knife alone before shooting him dead when he launched it.
Other police and paramedics have tried without fear of protecting the area and saving human lives. Ordinary people showed enormous courage, including Damien Guerot “Man” Damien Guerot, a French citizen who was granted the permanent residence after dealing with Cauchi on the mobile stairs, armed with a Bollard.
Speaking with Mark the anniversary of the attack, Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that Bondi’s junction was a time in which “cruelty was welcomed with courage”.
“Among terror, people were tested in ways they had never imagined, yet their first instinct was to help each other,” he said.
Like the Herald’s Jordan Baker and Perry Duffin reports, Cauchi’s fury that afternoon took place so quickly that most of his victims did not see him arrive. The entire Calvary – since he pulled the knife for the first time when he was killed on firearm by a police inspector – crossed less than six minutes.
At the end of this month, the horror of those six minutes will be examined in detail as part of a five -week coronal investigation.
Singleton’s father, the advertising manager John Singleton, said that the auditions in front of the state coroner Teresa O’Sullivan are Ghoulish, a “time loss” and wants the investigation on.
