Brentford captain Christian Norgaard signs a new two -year contract


Brentford’s captain Christian Norgaard has signed a new contract with the club until 2027.

The perverse terms of the 31 -year -old had had to expire in the summer, although Brentford had an option to trigger a 12 -month extension.

Atletico reported in February This, when all the parties were ready, sat and would have discovered whether to activate this option or negotiate a new contract, and Norgaard has now signed a new two -year field.

“This new contract was a kids game for us and Christian,” said coach head Thomas Frank. “Christian has been an integral part of the fantastic journey in which we have been in the last six years. It is our club captain and one of our most important players.

“His ability to perceive the danger and intercepted is at an extraordinarily high level, as well as his ability to play forward at the first or second touch. And he has collected his threat to the objectives this season.”

Norgaard joined Brentford from Fiorentina in 2019 and continued to do 187 appearances, helping the club to win the promotion from the championship and establish himself in the Premier League. He made 25 most important flight apparitions this season, providing four goals and two assists.

The midfielder previously worked with Frank as he played for the youth sides of Denmark and then again in the Danish team Brondby.

“The first time I trained Christian, it was a n. 10; now it is one of the best defensive midfielders of the Premier League,” added Frank.

“I am very happy. I hope we can continue to be successful together with Christian who guides the team.”

Norgard becomes the last Brentford player to commit his future in the club, with Mikkel Damsgaard, Keane Lewis-Potter and Aaron Hickey Everyone signs new offers in January.
