Bruce Mouat goes for the fourth medal of the fourth curling worlds – Watch the BBC

Scotland Skip Bruce Mouat believes that the pain he still feels to lose a medal at the world championship last year is a good thing to bring to this year’s competition.

Its track is at the top of the global charts and will begin as favorite when the event starts to Moose Jaw, Canada on Saturday.

Speaking with BBC Scotland last October, admitting that he had moved away from curling and is “embarrassed” by how he played after his track lost in Italy in the bronze medal game a few months earlier.

But now the thirty -year -old thinks that the experience could help while the team tries to win a fourth medal worldwide.

“That pain is not necessarily a negative thing to feel again,” said Mouat. “It is almost a good thing to remember how that situation felt at that moment. Being able to grow from it is the most important part.

“Do not want to hear that it is again quite important for us and we know that we are good enough to get to those last phases and in the last phases we just want to perform a little better than we did last year.”

The Mouat track already has a considerable range of medals, including the winter Olympic silver and the 2023 world gold, the last time the competition was held in Canada.

Despite their impressive list of results, Skip admits that they have the opportunity to play again in Canada in a world “fills every single Bigodino of excitement, regardless of where you come.”

He explains: “The only thing that would be better for us would be to win a world championship in Scotland. Unfortunately, we have not yet had this opportunity, but the fingers have gone through at some point.

“Canada is definitely the next step down, I suppose. The crowd understands sport, they love all the curlers. It is perhaps (like) Wimbledon for tennis. It is quite beautiful.”
