Carlton is preparing for the Coleman Harry McKay medal to return; Max Gawn explains Simon Goodwin’s comments on personal problems

Bulldogs defenders Liam Jones and James O’Donnell should return from an injury if they train on Wednesday.
Jones, in particular, would significantly strengthen the backline of a dog who has relying on Ruck/destroyed forward Rory Lobb to open the road.
Like his probable opponent Curway, Jones’ preset was seriously interrupted by an injury when he suffered a tension at the tall knee tendon eight weeks ago during training.

Melbourne’s captain Max Gawn says he has no problem with Simon Goodwin after the Demons coach revealed that his star player had to do with a personal “background”, but he admits that the question could have been managed differently.
Goodwin raised his eyebrows on Sunday after the Loss of 59 points of demons to North MelbourneRevealing that Gawn – for so long the Premier Ruckman of the League, but, on this occasion, well beaten by the counterpart of Kangaroos Tristan Xerri – he had “some things in life” that he was managing and “people have the background”.
“In life, there are other things that are happening,” said Goodwin.

While it is rare that the coaches freely disclose this information, Gawn Tuesday said he had no problems with his coach and opened on what he has dealt with for two years.
“I’m fine. There is a family’s illness., For a while, for about 24 months, to tell the truth. I put myself in a really good place in those 24 months, to be honest,” said Gawn to Triple M.
“I played some good football, I took fantastic people in the club, fantastic people of my family and I introduced myself every single day ready to be a captain, a player and I introduced myself home ready to be husband and dad.
“I am really in an excellent place, as well as the family member, at this point. It has been a little intensified in the last three or four weeks, but now he has returned to constant start.”
Goodwin had said during the pre-installation that demons would show a greater “love” for each other, having endured a tumultuous 2024 campaign in which the players of Star Christian Petracca and Clayton Oliver took into consideration the idea of leaving the club, while President Kate Roffey and CEO Gary Perti left.

Gawn said goodwin’s comments were a sign of “love”.
“In those comments, I love the fact that the coach loves me. It clearly shows that he cares. It’s 100 %just. There are reasons behind the performance problems for some players,” said Gawn.
“It was not me on the weekend. I got in a good point to be able to play. I was just beaten. We were all beaten, apart from Kade Chandler, to be honest.
“I will not hide behind. But I understand what my coach is doing. He is a paternal figure for me. He was showing love, he was showing care. I appreciate him.”

Gawn said he had been in “open dialogue” with club officials on how to manage the question to make sure he could be the best captain and player who could be. He said he talked to Goodwin on Monday on Sunday events.
“Yesterday we talked a lot and we talk every single day. There are no problems with me and goody. I can clearly see what he was trying to do, show me love, support and care. And I don’t mind,” Gawn said.
“Yesterday I spoke with that family member, they don’t care. So, yes, that’s fine.
“I think that if we all returned at the beginning of the press conference, we would potentially say:” I have just been destroyed by Xerri. “But I don’t even mind how it was held.
“I had some ups and downs during the trip, but I put myself in an excellent place to be able to play a good football. I know I am a supporter of mental health.
Gawn had 11 sales, 27 hipouts but only a game of distance Sunday, compared to the 20 touches of Xerri, 29 hipout and 12 authorizations and a goal.
Gawn said that Sunday’s intention was below the same.
“In reality I never believed in this line – we did not introduce ourselves – but that’s how it seemed. It seemed that a team was ready to play some rather hard football, with a team and a team was a bullied from the ball,” said Gawn.
The demons are without victories after two rounds and host Gold Coast at the MCG Saturday.
