Celtic: Brendan Rodgers I complain about when the title party is delayed

The celtic procession to a fourth title of following Scottish premiership could have been only delayed, but it was clear that the evaluation of the defeat by Brendan Rodgers in St Johnstone since “bitterly disappointing” was not only the only result.

A victory against a team drift at the bottom of the division would have set the opportunity to conquer the trophy at home in KilMarnock on Saturday for lunch.

That scenario is now zero, although a Celtic victory followed by a loss of Rangers in Aberdeen the following day would still be added to a victory of the title.

The defeat in Perth was the fourth of Celtic in an otherwise impressive championship campaign, but all four came from January and characterized the granting of an initial goal – something highlighted by Rodgers.

“It has happened too many times,” he said. “I have seen a trend now with us, and it will be interesting between now and the end of the season in terms of mentality.

“We didn’t start the game as we wanted. The mentality and attitude of the first half are disappointing. It concerns your mentality, and this is something that concerns me.”

Former Celtic goalkeeper Pat Bonner, in the Pundry Sportsound service, suggested that he would be a “real, true disappointment for fans”, but what did he go wrong?
