Charlotte Bankes of Great Britain wins silver at the World Ski and Snowboard Ski Ski Championships

Charlotte Bankes won the silver in the women’s snowboard cross while Great Britain gained their first podium at the world championships of freestyle skiing and snowboarding in Switzerland.
The banks recovered from an early setback in the final to challenge Michela Moioli, but they settled for a second place after being reviewed by Italian in a photographic finish.
The French Julia Pereira de Sousa obtained third place in the event in Engadin.
It is the first medal of the 29 -year -old world championships from a 2021 gold and adds the silver he won in Utah in 2019 and the Gold Team with Huw Nightingale in Bakuriani in 2023.
“Today we knew our tactics, we knew that Bank Tre was important to generate the speed for the bottom and that I had to be patient and concentrated on myself,” said Bankes, who concluded first in his quarter -finals and semifinals.
“Unfortunately, in the final, I am a little frustrated since my start, but I didn’t focus, I focused on the construction speed, I went back later and I was happy to be fighting until the finish line.
“It was a strong ending, Michela really deserves it and I’m happy to have pushed her to the finish line.”
The banks will be the next action in the Snowboard Cross competition with Nightingale on Saturday.
