Cody Bramwell: British freeride snowboarder on the victory Xtreme Verbier

Bramwell was at the bottom of the general classification with two events of the remaining regular season.
Only 60% higher than the field would keep their Pro license for the 2025-26 season and will arrive at the FWT final in the Swiss Resort of Verbier.
After claiming the next total third place in 2021 and 2022, before losing the 2023 campaign with a broken ankle, he seemed ready to lose his place at the top of the FWT for what he promises to be a transformative year for sport.
The tour is joining the forces with the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS), which manages the world cup programs in alpine skiing, as well as ski and snowboard sciĆ .
The developments scheduled for 2026 include the first Freeriding World Championships, while a application will be submitted to the International Olympic Committee today (Monday 31 March) to request inclusion in the 2030 winter games in France.
Bramwell has faced the prospect of losing the richness of opportunities to open up to the best knights, but still had a chance to redeem himself – and this time his stars aligned themselves.
By throwing caution to the wind, he obtained his race in Georgia to claim only the second victory of his career and the first in five years. A second place in the next event in Austria saw him jump in third place in the general classification and qualify for the tour final.
Even better came to Verbier Dello Sport’s spiritual house, where Bramwell produced a stunning race to win the Blue-Romband event of FWT.
“I guess they have just gained so much confidence from that victory in Georgia,” he explained.
“Every time I’m at the beginning, I wonder what I do here? ‘
“Starting at the start gate is stressful, but as soon as you leave you, they are like ‘ok, that’s what I love to do’.
“But for the final, I was the least nervous, I would say, because I had already saved my snowboard career for at least another 12 months.”
