Cowboys “Feel Good” on the contractual interviews of Micah Parsons; Dallas “not done” in the free agency

PALM Beach, Fla. – Although it does not seem that an extension of the Micah Parsons contract is imminent, Stephen Jones, executive vice -president of Dallas Cowboys, says he “feeling good” for their recent visits with their Rusher Superstar Pass.
“We have an excellent employment relationship with Micah,” said Jones on Sunday from the annual meetings of the League. “Think of his world. We had good visits with him. Feel well on where we are directed.”
Jones refused to hypothesize if Parsons would have participated in the team activities organized and the minicamp if a new contract has not been reached since the beginning of those out of season training in a couple of months. Parsons is entering the fifth and last year of his beginner contract.
“Some guys want to visit,” Jones said. “And some guys don’t want to visit their money. We respect both ways. But if the players want to enter and talk to us, we have obtained a policy with open doors, whether it is (owner and general manager Jerry Jones) or myself.
“Micah like to visit, so it’s a good thing.”
Some recent extensions of the contract throughout the League have probably influenced the parameters of the next Parsons agreement. The defensive end of Cleveland Browns Myles Garrett signed an extension at the beginning of this month which has an average of $ 40 million per season, making it the no higher grouping of the history of the League. A couple of weeks later, the large receiver of Cincinnati Bengals Ja’Marr Chase took that honor from Garrett by signing a four -year agreement that On average $ 40.25 million per season.
At the end of the season, the next parsons agreement could be on average between $ 35 million and $ 40 million per season. Now, it is likely that its average annual salary will be at least $ 40 million.
Many wonder why Dallas wanted to get some time to get some of his best contracts. When Cowboys face questions about that topic, they often indicate that they were taking both sides to make an agreement. The Cedee Lamb’s receiver signed his four -year agreement which has an average of $ 34 million per season after losing four weeks of training field last summer. The four -year agreement of the Quarterback Franchising Dak Prescott record which has an average of $ 60 million per season was aimed a few hours before the team’s opening of the team in Cleveland.
Jones does not see their contractual strategy to be a problem.
“We already made them early and we waited until the end to make them,” he said. “Much is the negotiation itself. Some of them take more time than others. We put zero credibility or credibility in people saying that we wait too long.”

While chatting with a small group of journalists for about 15 minutes at the Breakers Luxury Resort, Jones also provided an update on Precatt’s health and in which the team is in the free agency in the draft of the NFL next month.
Precott is recovering from the end of the season knee tendon for last year’s end of the season which required surgery. The videos of some of his recent training sessions with cowboys and keys receivers have been published on social media.
“Dak is going great,” said Jones. “It is coming. He is very electrified from where he is. And I know they are also the coaches. I feel like he was doing a hellish job.”
Jones said Prescott will probably have some limitations at the beginning of the team’s out of season training program.
“But knowing Dak, he’s a worker,” added Jones. “He is enthusiastic about where he is.”
Since the free agency began three weeks ago, some of The most remarkable moves of the cowboys Including the new defensive signature Osa Odighizuwa and the return/large receiver Kavontae Turpin. Dante Fowler, the defensive equipment Solomon Thomas, the lineback Jack Sanborn and the backup of Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders, then signed the defensive end. They also exchanged the cornerback Kaiir Elam and the lineback Kenneth Murray.
Is that to the draft?
“We haven’t finished yet,” Jones said. “We still have some exceptional things we are trying to do. Even some guys along the way, in terms of number, are much higher than we thought it would be on a couple of boys.
“Overall, we are really happy with what we have been able to do with our list and help the team.”
Some of Dallas’s remarkable losses included the right guard Zack Martin at retirement and in the defensive ending Demarcus Lawrence and Cornerback Jourdan Lewis who signed with other teams.
Last season Rico Dowdle, Dallas’s leader with 1,079 yard, signed with Carolina Panthers in the free agency. While cowboys like the two veterans who have added, there is still work to do in that area. It remains one of their best needs and could be addressed already in the first round.
“Part of what we do in the free agency is to get to where, we hope, there is a great player sitting there every choice we really like,” said Jones. “(We) We don’t want to be nailed, ‘Hey, it must be a defensive linesman or must be a receiver or must be a lineback or a runing back.’ Let’s see what comes to us.
