Daly Cherry-Evans who makes a first call to quit virile. It happened eight years ago with Cooper Cronk and Melbourne Storm

“When it was Cooper, he would always do his best for us, and even if he left a little, he would always do a good job for us,” said Bellamy to this masthead Saturday.

“He went to the Gauls and won two more compones there, so he was going well.

“In the end, we knew why Cooper made his decision, and we were fine. I never wanted to see him go, and (I can’t criticize) the service he gave to this club and kept good relationships with everyone.

“I guess Day is doing the same in Manly. The way Manly has played, not only him, are playing the house with the amount of points they are scoring.

“I don’t know Dady so well, but from my experience with Cooper, I can only imagine that it will want to leave for a good note.

“There is a lot to admire in him. I am quite sure that virile fans will get the value of their money (from him) this year.”

At the time Cronk said he wanted to be with Rushton and did not announce his agreement with the Gauls until after the season.

Cherry-Evans is now courted by Club Bondi himself with a similar two-year deal. As Cronk, Cherry-Evans adapts to the Galli bill, since he is a gaming director who have a desperate need, a cleaning skin and a shiny public speaker who appeals to the company sponsors.

The only difference between the two players is that Cherry-Evans will participate in post-match press conferences every week and regular updates will be requested.

Cronk said about his decision to leave Melbourne at that moment: “Sometimes there is more in the life of football.

“I am jealous of the boys who have their families here, who have their loved ones and have football in the same city.

“Unfortunately or fortunately – whatever you sit down – it’s time for me to try to give priority to my time and the future and that’s why I made the announcement.

“I was rather selfish in my approach to my football career and I think it’s time to put someone else and something else.

“I don’t know what awaits us next year, but if you ask me if I could play, then yes, I could.

“I feel physically and mentally that I could play another couple of years, but there are other things to evaluate.”

Even at 36 years old, Cherry-Evans knows he is physically and mentally able to continue. He even wants to continue playing football with Queensland.

“I always admired what Dady did for Manly, and he is still doing it – the age has not slowed it down,” said Bellamy.

“It doesn’t play worse and does not seem slower or less skilled or less passionate. It’s a wonder.”

The storm is about to defeat the dragons, but desperately there was no direction in attack without Hughes. Bellamy said that Hughes would surely start, despite initially expected he would be put aside much more than a week.

“They (The Storm Medicos) thought he would only lose a week, but I told them at that moment there was no way to happen,” said Bellamy.

“But apparently he did something similar to the other time.”

Tyran Wishart moves to the wing for Will Warbrick who will miss the game because of the symptoms of brain emotion.

Manly will be without Tom Rooms (knee) with Hopoate to start from behind.
