England Vs Australia: the Rugby League ash series returns in 2025

The Tonga and Samoa series was well welcomed and a success for England, but all the games were staged in stadiums with capacity of up to 25,000 in the traditional heart of the Rugby League.

However, the appetite scheduled for the Australian visit pushed the Rugby Football League and RL advertising to think more – with the new Wembley and Everton land of 90,000 capacities, which can accommodate over 50,000 fans, among three guest stages.

Wembley in particular has a special affection for supporters as an annual headquarters of the Challenge Cup final – and in the past has staged some Mammoths of Ash.

The victory of Great Britain in 1994, inspired by the genius of Jonathan Davies and a victory in England a year later in the phases of the world cup group, are remembered with affection by the fans of the house.

Australia also had a success in the famous headquarters, winning the world cups in 1992 and 1995 under the old “Twin Towers” and hit the Figi during their last visit to the new land in the 2013 semifinal.

Bramley-Moore Dock will be a new territory for sport, but Everton’s current home goodison park has organized four Australian matches in the first part of the 20th century.

On the contrary, Headingley has staged countless tests, ashes games and the meetings of the World Cup among the countries and is now a basic place for the fixtures in England.
