Federal Workers Walk Into Chaos Amid Return to Office


For some federal employees, the return to the office has meant an expansion of their duties to include the cleaning of the toilets and the use of garbage. For others, it was commuting in a federal building just to continue doing its job through videoconference.

Some showed up in the office only to be sent home. Others showed up early and had no place to sit. Some employees of the Federal Aviation Administration have returned to an office where lead had been detected in the water. And spending freezing have meant a deficiency of toilet paper in some buildings.

Federal workers have returned to the offices in stages since President Trump issued an order to do it immediately after being sworn.
