Female Nations League: Northern Ireland “hungry to return” against Romania – Magill
Magill admitted that Northern Ireland was frustrated by the elements of their performance in Friday’s draw in Bucharest, where their inability to convert the possibilities and a defensive interval cost them.
“I think in the last third we know that we can be more clinical; we go 1-0 away from home and we know that we want the second goal to be ours,” he explained.
“We will learn so much from those moments and I think we are growing in aspects such as the management of games and trying to keep things closest to, we really have to work to agree on those areas.
“We are frustrated by many aspects of the performance in which we can be better, but I don’t think we would be excessively disappointed, we have to take stock and go again and try to take the three points Tuesday.”
The Birmingham City striker played a deeper role and scored twice in 3-2 victory against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the last window.
She has returned to a role as a more familiar central striker against Romania, but continued to fall deep to start the attacks, something he says he worked on.
“In the last year I started doing it both here for the Northern Ireland and for the club, he is only adding a little more experience in the areas where we have lost in recent years with the younger players coming soon,” added Magill.
“It is certainly an area of my game that I tried to adapt, so it provides another option to Tanya (Oxtoby).”
