FIFA confirms us-mexic, the United Kingdom as the only bidder for 2031, 2035 women’s world cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino confirmed that the United States-Messic and the United Kingdom are the only respective bidders for the women’s cups 2031 and 2035.
They announced the football associations of England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland In March They would have presented a collective expression of interest to host the 2035 tournament, apparently leaving the United States and Mexico as the only bidder for 2031.
The United States football and the Mexican Football Federation announced their intention to present a joint offer for the 2031 tournament last April. The two federations withdrew their offer for the 2027 World Cup to focus instead on 2031.

Sources that are familiar with the discussions, speaking on condition of anonymity, have indicated conversations in the initial phase on the hosting of a limited quantity of fixtures in the two Concacaf countries.
Infantino made the announcement on Thursday at the 49th UEFA congress in Belgrade, Serbia. If a compliant offer is presented by the end of 2025, this will open the road to the United Kingdom to host the women’s World Cup for the first time. The United States hosted the last time in 2003, after having done it previously four years earlier, while Mexico has never organized games.
“We are honored to be the only bidder for the FIFA 2035 female World Cup,” said English CEO Mark Bullingham. “Host the first FIFA World Cup since 1966 with our home nations partners will be very special. The hard work begins now, to put together the best possible offer by the end of the year
Infantio added: “Today, I can also confirm that, as part of the offer process, we received an offer for ’31 and an offer – valid offer, I should add – for ’35. The offer of ’31 comes from the United States of America and potentially some other members of Concacaf together. And the offer of ’35 is from Europe, from the nations of the houses.
“So, the path is there for the women’s world that takes place in ’31 and ’35 in some large countries, in some great nations, to increase the women’s football movement even more.”
The members of the members will be required to formally present their offers to FIFA in the last quarter of this year.
