Finance of Chelsea: UEFA to evaluate Chelsea’s accounts at the end of the season

The football finance expert Kieran Maguire told the BBC Sport:

It is certainly an unprecedented level of profit that we have never seen before. At the same time, nobody is quite sure of how much a female team is worth.

Chelsea had to present their accounts to the Premier League by December 31, 2024. The Premier League had two weeks to see them again to bring things further and decided not to do it, therefore it must be satisfied.

Chelsea certainly benefits from being in a very exclusive part of London, so the ability to sell those hotels as real estate activities is more advantageous for them.

There has been an enthusiasm on the part of some club owners to put this particular rule outlaw. It is not possible to sell your resources to yourself and book profits in the EFL. The rules of UEFA are complex and difficult to understand, but then it is not guaranteed that Chelsea will be able to use these profits.

UEFA tends to strengthen the clubs for violating the financial rules compared to the penalties on the field, so if I were a forest of Nottingham or a fan of Everton, I suspect that I would feel a lot on my knees, because they were strictly punished in terms of deductions of historical points to spend money, but spending much less chelsea money.

But the owners of the Premier League have decided to allow this particular feature and seems strange, but it is their ball and that’s how they are choosing to play it.
