A colossal fire broke out in a Malaysian suburb outside Kuala Lumpur due to a gas pipeline, pushing evacuations of nearby houses.
Hell near a service station in Putra Heights in the central state of Selangor Tuesday was visible for kilometers. The National Petronas oil company said the fire broke out one of its gas pipelines at 8.10.
In a short statement he said that the affected pipeline had been isolated. Three petrol stations near the fire -fighting site were not affected but they were temporarily closed as a precautionary measure, Petronas said, adding that the investigations were still in progress.
The Selangor catastrophes management unit declared in a declaration that the fire had spread to several houses in a nearby village and efforts were made to save the trapped residents. He added that several people had suffered from burns and would be taken for the treatment, but the extent of the complete damage was evaluated. The swing valve had been closed and that in the end would have praised the fire, he said.
The English stars newspaper said that the fire and rescue teams had saved seven people.
Dozen of selangor firefighters have been sent to the scene.
