Gotham FC Defender Tietna Davidson leaves the correspondence after a leg injury does not contact
Gotham FC and the defender of the US women’s national team Tierna Davidson left Friday’s match against Houston’s dashboard with an apparent leg injury.
The 26 -year -old was working to close his former teammate, Yazmeen Ryan, and awkwardly planted his left leg as he ran towards the final line. There were no contacts on the comedy. He fell, keeping his left knee immediately and seemed visibly shocked. Davidson slammed his hand to the ground a few times and was consoled by the ann-Katrin Berger goalkeeper before leaving the field.
The extent of Davidson’s accident remains unclear, however, a Gotham spokesman said he will be evaluated when the team returns to New Jersey.
Davidson came out on the field with a limited support by the coaches and his teammates. Apart from the side, the assistant of the Gotham goalkeeper Michelle Betos, who was a player from the team last year, gave Davidson a long embrace before the defender headed in the locker room.
Defender Mandy Freeman entered the field for Davidson in the 44th minute, taking the captain’s arm of the captain left behind by Davidson.
In 2022, the United States defender snatched the ACL in the right knee while with the Chicago Red Stars and lost the rest of that season. Before then, in 2018, he fractured his ankle while playing for Stanford.
Houston’s scenes were worrying for Davidson and Gotham, who were in the run for their first victory of the season.
Davidson was nominated in the 24 -players of 24 players from Emma Hayes for the next friendly friendly friendships against Brazil in California next week.

What does this mean for your home?
In the short term, it is right to expect Hayes to replace Davidson for the next two games against Brazil. The United States coach continued to explore the depth in the center of the back, in particular with Naomi Girma who is missing the first part of the year with a calf injury. With the place of Girma as the main starting center of the cemented team and 2025 that acts as an extensive evaluation period without an important tournament for the users, Davidson’s injury is a hard blow for her while trying to make her case to join Girma as a coherent appetizer.
Tempism is a potential silver coating, however, with 2025 only the beginning of the World Cup and the Olympic cycle. If it is the worst scenario, Davidson would have a little more of the track in front of the qualifications of the World Cup next summer and a lot of time before the 2027 tournament to return to dispute.
However, Davidson’s absence would be unlucky for the United States considering his silent leadership and caring. Davidson has also shown that he is one of the new voices for the off -field team, having just been elected president of the IFTR players Association.
