Gundagai Cup a launching pad in Wagga for Kilkenny county

The County of Albury Mile, Kilkenny, will face another country country on Sunday when the five -year -old contested the XXXX Gundagai Cup while heading towards Wagga Cup of the House of the coach Tim Donnelly next month.
Donnelly based in Wagga had a long -haul plan to win the Wagga Cup with the County of Kilkenny dating back to last October when the Castrone came second in the Cotamundra Cup.

The castrone had three races from a spell, with a second eighth when it was beaten at just over three lengths in the country championships lying in Wagga followed by the last start of Albury Mile Victory.
“He returned to good order,” said Donnelly.
“His first two races out of 1200m and 1400 m were solid and appreciated the pace to the mile (1600 m) to obtain a strong final victory in Albury at his latest start.”
Mathew Cahill was aboard the County of Kilkenny in Albury, but Molly Bourke resumes the race in the Gundagai Cup of $ 36,000.
“Molly has a good record on him with a couple of placements in the city and a victory in the city over him and he was also on him in the Cotamundra Cup,” said Donnelly.
“He knows him well and should have any possibility from the good gate (barrier 3).”
The County of Kilkenny was the first favorite with the fixed probability for the Gundagai Cup, in front of the buyer of stars trained by Bris Brisbourne, who is being backup from a second last start in Wagga last weekend. Even the Balodon trained in Ron Stubbs, who closed in sixth place behind the County of Kilkenny in the mile of Albury, was well considered on the market.
