Hollie Doyle becomes the second female jockey to ride 1,000 winners in Great Britain


Fantino Hollie Doyle got his 1,000th winner in Great Britain – and he hopes to go on and double his count.

The 28 -year -old became only the second woman after Hayley Turner to reach the reference point with the victory aboard Care, trained by Marco Botti, in Lingfield on Monday.

“I am pleased to have done it, it’s another milestone and hopefully there are another 1,000 under the hood somewhere,” said Doyle.

He beat the record for the number of annual winners ridden by a female jockey in 2019 by erasing 116 triumphs and reached 1,000 winners around the world Last September.

In 2020, Doyle scored his first real victory Ascot on Scarlet Dragon and got five wins in a meeting in Windsor.

These successes were recognized when Sunday Times Sportswoman of the Year was appointed, as well as taking third place in the BBC Sports Personality of the Year prize.

She was the first woman to ride a winner of the British Champions Day in Ascot and the first female to earn the classic success when the French oaks are landed aboard Nashwa in 2022.

“It’s crazy, I struggle to believe some of the things I have reached and I’m quite sure that many other people do,” said Doyle, from herefordshire, to Sky Sports Racing.

“It’s incredible, I just have to go on.”
