Hundreds of thousands celebrate the victory of the Carabao Cup of Newcastle

Hundreds of thousands of supporters have flooded in Newcastle to celebrate the victory of the historical cup of the football team.

The Newcastle United won the Carabao Cup at the beginning of this month, ending their wait 70 years for the domestic silverware.

The team traveled on two open buses on the streets of the city center, which were full of crowds, for a great celebration on the mooring of the city, while crazy of supporters roar them.

The duo of Geordie Ant & Dec hosted the celebration, with the manager Eddie Howe who describes it as a “very emotional day” and the legend of the Club Alan Shearer who says: “We could get used to this”.

Howe was interviewed at the top of the bus.

He said: “This is truly incredible, absolutely amazing.

“You have people hung from the lampposts, from the buildings, I hope everyone are fine.”

Howe said he was “very emotional” when he saw a huge flag of himself created by the group of Wor Flags supporters arranged near the stadium.

“I can’t thank everyone enough, from Newcastle, the way they embraced me and my family and I’m happy to have given them some joy,” he said.

The buses and the crowds then turned into the mooring of the city, a large area open just outside the center of the city, where 150,000 fans had already gathered to welcome their heroes at home.

Shearer was one of the club’s legends that rose on stage.

“The last two weeks have just been … probably the best of my life,” he said.

“We could get used to this, right?

“I wanted this to happen in my life and it happened, so whatever happens from now on, I can become happy,” added Shearer.

Howe and players therefore alternated by raising the trophy with deafening applause.

The hero of Wembley Dan Burn’s goal said he feels “numb” as they were not used to winning trophies.

He said he had to remain composed while the bus was traveling through the city.

Captain Bruno Guimaraes led fans in an interpretation of Hey Jude, replacing “Jude” with “Geordies”.

Meanwhile, Alexander Isak has given fans his best geordie accent: “Abeet world Kid?”

The celebrations ended with a display with illuminated drones that form images and words that summarize the victory of the cup.
