“As a family, we received a series of questions about the legal battle that currently take place in court with the case of Jodi,” said the family in a note. “Without deepening the weeds, we all agree that if the release of the information would hinder the investigation in any way, the research mandate should remain sealed.
“We are not on board with the information released to the public, especially while the investigations are open and in progress. We recognize that there are a number of different opinions on this: we respect it and we ask you to respect ours too. At this moment, this is our only public comment to do on this issue.”

Huisentruit was 27 years old when he disappeared in June 1995. The anchor of news vanished in the early hours of the morning of June 27, 1995 in Mason City, Iowa.
After Huisentruit did not work by 7 in the morning, Mason City Police have been notified. His vehicle was found in his apartment, together with a folded car key, high heels and signs of struggle.
