The $ 40 million production program for schools used “modern construction methods”which aimed to reduce the costs of new schools up to 20 % and construction time of up to 30 %. The contract was assigned to App Group in February 2024 but was canceled in July.
In a July declaration, the Department of Education said: “While the contract was not resolved due to an ICAC investigation, concerns were raised on how the … race for this work was undertaken and we have addressed these ICAC concerns”.
