International Open: Raymond van Barneveld beats Jonny Clayton to join Luke Humphries and Stephen Bunting over the past 16 years


Raymond Van Barneveld booked his place in the last 16 of the Internazional Open with a 6-2 victory against Jonny Clayton.

Van Barneveld began confidently in their second round match at the Sachsen Arena in Riesa, Germany, to obtain a 3-0 advantage on the Clayton of Wales-E has never looked back.

The 57 -year -old Dutchman, in 35th place in the order of merit PDC, marked on average 97.2 while a Clayton less than equal managed only 81.4.

English Stephen Bunting found slightly harder during a gritty 6-4 victory on Darius Labanauskas of Lithuania.

The Welsh Gerwyn Price conquered a 6-4 victory against Mike De Decker, Cameron Menzies eliminated James Wade 6-5 and Peter Wright won with the same margin against Ritchie Eden.

Rob Cross retired from the tournament because of the disease, so Martin Schindler of Germany was greeted at the next round.

The third round, the quarter -finals, the semifinals and the final will be played on Sunday.
