Is Liv Dozzine the largest threat to the ambitions of Augusta in Mcilroy?

Since the 35 -year -old now less than a painful elbow and preparations for thin songs away from public eyes, the best Liv stars this week compete on the hardest path of the circuit.

Among these is Bryson Dechambeau, who has reviewed McIlroy stuttering to win the US Open last June.

Those Liv contenders, who also include Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, Tyrrell Hatton and Joaquin Niemann, will be desperate to refute a widely kept theory according to which the format of the 54 hole hunt hunting start team played on Liv is harmful to the main boxes.

Rahm was still a PGA Tour Player when he won the Masters of 2023 and believed that his transfer to Liv could demonstrate a catalyst for some form of reunification in male professional golf.

But while the wait continues, the Spaniard must show that he can still hit Heights who brought him that second large crown two years ago.

Rahm, an individual Liv champion of last year, has not won any of their four tournaments so far in 2025, but is second behind Niemann in the general classification. The thirty -year -old ended the first six in every event since he was classified to the opening of the February season in Riyadh.

But it is frustrated and requires an improvement in its scores. “I didn’t play the best,” he recently admitted. “I didn’t feel so comfortable as I would like and is shown in my game in Cuneo.

“If you want to contend and win and above all win Major, you need that part of your game.”

So its precision of 150 IARDE and the penalty will be worth noting when Liv plays this week in Doral. The demanding and proven Miami test of Donald Trump seems to be the type of heating that the Augusta candidates of the escape circuit require.

“Basically all the things that make a golf course hard are right here,” commented the 2022 open champion Cameron Smith, another potential Liv threat in Augusta.

Twelve months ago Dechambeau closed seven on equal terms of Doral to tie in seventh place, before shooting 65-73 to share the advantage halfway of the Masters. He continued to tie for the sixth, his best performance of Augusta to date.

It was a display that laid the foundations for taking the booty to the PGA of the United States of the following month and then prevail to Pinehurst to inflict Mcilroy’s most painful defeat.

This year, however, the American Big-Hitting published only one of the first 10 on Liv. This, therefore, becomes an important week for Dechambeau to find shape.

Koepka, who is the only other golf player to win an important while playing the LIV program – the US 2023 PGA – has enjoyed a reputation for a long time for having reserved its best shape for the events of the Grand Slam.

The sample five times bigger struggle for the motivation in Bog’s standard tournaments. But there are signs that Koepka is mixing after having arrived according to the most recent Tournament of Liv in Singapore.

Surprisingly, he was unable to break the first 25 in the majors of last year, but maintained the advantage of 54 holes in Augusta in 2023 before shooting 75 to lose four shots in Rahm. It would not be a surprise to see him contend for again this year.
