Jaron Ennis beats Eimantas Stanionis to unify Welter IBF and WBA titles

The American Welter Jaron Ennis unified the IBF and WBA world titles with a technical KNockout of the sixth round of Eimantas Stanionis of Lithuania in Atlantic City.

Ennis, 27 years old, won the IBF title in November 2023 and saw the WBA Stanionis champion to keep his record unbeaten with a victory for the 34th.

Stanionis, 30 years old, had kept the wba Wba Welter crown since 2022 and had won all his previous 15 professional attacks, but he was unable to go out for the seventh round after suffering a series of wild body shots in the sixth.

“The crazy thing is that I had a dream that I would stop him just like that, and he came true,” said Ennis after completing the third defense of his IBF title.
