Cam Davis (Nine-under, 74, 79) came close to last to make it in five missed cuts this season.
But all eyes are on the world n. 2 Mcilroy, who fascinated on Thursday with a duo of double trolleys after climbing four below to apparently kiss his possibilities of an inaugural green jacket – and of the career Grand Slam – goodbye.

He then launched a bold approach from Pino’s needles, above the towering trees, in the next hole that led to a par.
Mcilroy pushed a blow closer to the leaders with a bird on the 15th – the par -5 that took seven a day before – to finish only two shots from the rhythm.
“I am really proud of myself with the way I replied after the finish last night,” said Mcilroy, who won his fourth and most recent older in 2014.
“I just had to remind myself that I played really good golf yesterday and I would not let two bad holes death the narrative for the rest of the week.

“Once I left the property I tried to leave what had happened here.
“I rushed home to see (daughter) Poppy before going to bed.
“I had a good conversation with Bob Rotella (sports psychologist) to not push too early, I just tried to remain really, really patient and this was awarded with a nice little stretch in the middle of the round.
“I don’t think I have shown anything, if there is just the belief that I have in myself and the belief of being resilient like anyone else here here.”
The native of Phoenix Matt McCarty (Five-Unun) has double Bogey of the first hole and left another shot on the next, but still loaded a four under 68 to take a short advantage in Club House.
The historical recovery included eight birds in 12 holes, McCarty the first to shoot 68 or rather in a round where it was three or worse at any phase.
The five -time major champion Brooks Koepka was able to afford to launch a shot for the last to cut, but had a quadruple Bogey, while the 107 -year -old Putt of 67 -year -old Bernard Langer to make the cut to what was his last appearance.
