Jeremy Swayman was the best Bruins player, who is a fundamental development

Montreal – Jeremy Swayman was not happy to lose with the Canadiens of Montreal Thursday. The goalkeeper of Boston Bruins was not alone.
The Bruins are 0-9-1 in the last 10 games. Losing 4-1 against the Canadiens was another kick in the head. They are worse than Buffalo Sabres, of all clubs. There is no end to lose sight.
The tank is real.
“You are always worried about the results,” said Swayman. “This is the name of the game right now. We have not achieved them and we must get them.”
But Swayman and Bruins must understand that individual and team performance must not necessarily align before 2024-25. In other words, Swayman must have his right game, regardless of how things are running away around him.
Thursday, his game was in a good place.
“I felt good,” said Swayman (28 parades). “I was just thriving from the boys in front of me. D-Men did a good boxing job and making sure they had seen the blows. The forts were pushing out, removing the lanes from the D-Men who came out.”
This was the worst season of Swayman’s career. It has a percentage of savings .892. Its precedent was .914.
You call it and went laterally for Swayman: read, puck touches, rebound control, tracing, depth, square flow to the shooters. When the Bruins needed Swayman to stand, the $ 66 million goalkeeper played smaller than him.
So, while the Bruins falter towards the end, one of their priorities is to straighten Swayman for the years to come. The 26-year-old is too good and too important for 2024-25 to be the beginning of a curve in the south. In previous seasons, Swayman has shown that he has things, from his sense of hockey to his technical precision to his swagger, to steal points that his team does not have a company recording.
It was not a coincidence, therefore, that Swayman made his third consecutive departure on Thursday. A quarter could arrive on Saturday against the hurricanes of Carolina. As far as the Bruins would like to correct their fall, no victory will save their season. Receiving Swayman on the track is a much more important requirement.

The Canadiens put three discs plus Swayman and closed it with an empty net. Swayman had no chance on all three. Two of the three arrived in a second period in which the Bruins were exceeded for 17-2. It was the umpteenth performance of an NHL club that beaten in a team with Ahl throughout the roster.
“Turn too many records,” Elias Lindholm said. “We are falling on two, fortunately. Sway kept us in and of course gave the opportunity to enter the third. Many things went wrong.”
In a sense, playing a list optimized for a lottery choice is a good opportunity for a goalkeeper to bear his position. Swayman did it. In the first period, when Cole Caufield left for a two -way race against one, Swayman gave a fool coldly to the close range of the wing of the wing with his blocker.
In the second period, Swayman chased Mike Matheson’s slap. He hit the deck. Alexandre Carrier should have scored on the rebound, but Swayman stretched out and healed the vector’s shot. He showed Swayman’s athleticism and determination.
“A little despair. He wanted it to be cute than that,” Swayman said. “I want to do my job to make sure I can do everything possible to keep the record out of the net. Just a lucky rescue. It’s what we like to see.”
This would always have been a year of transition for Swayman. It was the first time that a season as goalkeeper n. 1 After Linus Ullmark’s departure. He had no preset action because he was not signed. Swayman and Bruins promptly discovered that their list was not close to the quality of the previous versions at all.
None of this was an excuse for Swayman’s performance. Given the importance of his role and the contract he signed, Swayman was not simply good enough. It has no other choice than making the corrections necessary to give its employer greater possibilities to chase victories in 2025-26.
The beginning of Thursday, therefore, could be a support point for Swayman while reconstructing what has broken.
“I am sure he wants to finish the year feeling well with himself,” said the interim coach Joe Sacco. “I just think it comes from his preparation and his job.”
