Joey Barton guilty of aggression for kicking his wife on his head

Former footballer Joey Barton was declared guilty of aggression by beating after pushing his wife on the ground and kicked her on his head.

The 42-year-old midfielder who played for Manchester City and QPR, attacked Georgia Barton, 38 years old, in June 2021 during a drunk row in their family home in Kew, in the south-west of London.

The couple, who had drunk with two other couples while their children slept upstairs began to discuss after Barton had threatened to fight his wife’s brother and father, the court of Westminster magistrates previously.

Barton, who at the time was the director of Bristol Rovers, received a 12 -week suspended prison sentence.
