Josh Kerr and Jakob Ingebriggen meets over 1500m at the London Diamond League meeting in July


Josh Kerr of Great Britain and Jakob Ingebriggen of Norway will resume their rivalry at the London Diamond League meeting this summer.

Kerr, world champion in charge of 1500m and former Olympic champion of 1500m ingebriggen, who have a longtime feud, They meet in the distance on July 19 at the London stadium in their first match against each other on British soil.

“I’ve never moved away from the fact that I am trying to be the best range of 1500m than our era, and this means wining more titles and running faster times than all the others,” said 27 -year -old Kerr.

“None of this is easy and we are working hard to achieve our goals.

“For me, this includes races a little more this summer, but my goal for the year is simple; I want to defend my world title in Tokyo and everything I do between today and then, including the smoothing at the London Athletics Meet, focuses on the achievement of that goal.”

Kerr claimed 1500 m bronze at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which took place in 2021 due to the cooked pandemic, while Inscriggen won gold, but the British beat his rival to win the world title of 2023.

The final of 1500 m at the 2024 Olympics was to be two between them, but they were gold jokes by the American Cole Hocker.

Kerr ended with silver when Inscriggen, 24 years old, ended up in fourth place, although the latter won 5,000 m gold.

“I love running and the London Diamond League is perfect for my program,” said Inscriggen.

“I was never afraid to introduce myself and it was nice to get away from the world and the European Indoor championships with four gold medals.

“My goal is now on the summer and the return to Tokyo – where I won my Olympic title in 2021 – to win global gold. Competition in London is a crucial part of my accumulation and I know that the atmosphere will be incredible.”
