Kevin Willard responds to Sweet 16 work speculation discussing Walter Clayton, Crab Cake

SAN FRANCISCO – The first update on Wednesday in the drama of the work that swallows the Maryland Coach Kevin Wivin showed up just before 10 in the morning that the media gathered at that point were authorized to watch the first 15 minutes of the Earth -center practice at the Chase Center. In this way, everything at hand could confirm that, yes, Kevin Willard was actually still training Maryland’s male basketball in the NCAA tournament.
This was for the revelations in that window, unless Willard counts with a brief conversation with the station Stan Van Gundy in which the Earth coach greeted a Van Gundy’s food recommendation.
And, in reality, it was for the revelations, the period, for anyone wondering on the future Maryland and (presumably) Villanova, an open job to which Willard was connected as the best candidate. Last week, Willard was an open hydrant. Wednesday was an impassive comic.
The relevant highlights?
Question: “Obviously you have been very open the last week on the attempt to get a greater share of Nil, revenue quotas. I am sure you saw yesterday (football coach) Mike Locksley said that he would prefer to keep some of these problems at home. Why did you feel this outdoor discussion was the best way to support your program?”
Willard: “The most important thing is that we have to stop (Walter Clayton Jr.). He is really good. Shoots the basketball that goes to leave 48 percent. Shoots 38 percent well. So, in the last two days, trying to invent a game plan to stop Clayton because I think he is one of the best guards in the country we have seen.
“And really obviously trying to repair our rebound problems have also been at the top of my mind. It’s a big problem.”
Question: “You went to the radio last night or yesterday and you talked to work with someone in the Athletics Department. There were updates for us?”
Willard: “Yes, we are playing Florida. We are playing Florida. It’s a great matchup for us. This is all about Sweet 16 and these guys who have fun as much as possible. I liked it tremendously. A big moment last night.”
Thus ended the somewhat touchy part of the media session, given the stone wall erected at the end of each question.
But before leaving, Willard provided an extremely personal vision: the coach’s head of Maryland is not a fan of eating real crab legs.
“I like the crab cake,” said Willard, answering a question from a local journalist on the nickname of “Crab Five” of the team and if the group actually enjoys crab meat. “I feel the entire process of crossing the crack of the crab and peeling the crab and doing everything that only to get – how, it is not so much crab. It’s a lot of work. It’s really nice to have a pair of beers with friends and do it along the port. It’s really good. But I prefer someone who only makes me a nice crab. And I love the construction cake.”
Information? Illuminating? Wednesday, Kevin Willard left the interpretation.
