Liverpool against Everton: Can David Moyes end his Anfield misery?

For David Moyes, Anfield has become nightmare stuff.
Twenty -one games have succeeded there, no victory, 14 defeats and 36 goals granted – and Everton’s boss does not expect life to be easier when Taffees visits the leaders of the Runaway Liverpool League in the Premier League on Wednesday.
Moyes, 61 years old, whose Everton side is 36 points behind Liverpool, said: “We could be more far from Liverpool than we had never been at the moment.
“When we left here, we were much closer to Liverpool, we were competitive, in competition in the same areas of the League. At the moment it is probably the largest gulf between the two clubs.”
A look at the history books shows that Moyes is right. This is the largest gap of points that has ever been before a Merseyside derby in which Moyes was responsible for Everton.
The 19 games of Moyes’ Premier League without victory at Anfield are also the longest that every manager has been competing without victory on the ground.
A dozen of those games arrived during his first spell manager of Everton, with his team who earned seven draws and seven defeats. He also lost in his only game in Anfield when the head of Manchester United and again when he is responsible for Sunderland.
While he was responsible for West Ham, he was responsible for seven games in Liverpool, losing them all, with his most recent visit there that sees the Reds to the withdrawal of a 5-1 in the quarterfinals of the Carabao Cup in December 2023.
He said: “Yeh. I don’t want to (the record). I want to win. I want to make sure to free myself.
“Every time we go there, he presents another chance to do it.
“I would lie if I said that I can’t wait to go there all the time because it is such a difficult place to get results. It has nothing to do with the surrounding environment or the field, they have always produced good teams.”
