Through the two opening rounds, the female tournament has made an average of 602,000 spectators in ABC, Espn, Espn2 and Espnu, the second highest audience until this point since 2009. The second round of the women’s tournament has marked on average 982,000 spectators, which was the second second round the most looked at behind the Caitlin Clark-infusion of 1.4 million visas for last year. The audience of the second round has increased by 60 percent compared to 2023.
The first round of the women’s tournament recorded an average of 367,000 spectators. It is falling 22 percent compared to 471,000 last year (as expected without Clark) but on the growth of 43 percent of 2023.
