Maryland assumes Buzz Williams as a male basketball coach

Maryland is taking Buzz Williams like his new male basketball coach, he announced the school on Tuesday.
Williams, 52, was the Coach of New Orleans, Marquette and Virginia Tech before taking the head of the head in Texas A & M in the spring of 2019.

In three of his stops as head coach, he had a winning percentage of 59 percent or rather. He is twice coach of the century of the year, winning the prize after the 2019-2020 and 2022-23 seasons. In his 18 years as head coach, Williams’ programs have made the NCAA tournament 11 times.
“We are excited to bring a coach of the caliber of Buzz Williams to the University of Maryland,” said Interim Athletic Director of Maryland Colleen Sorem in a note. “His incredible successful record in three important basketball programs speaks alone, but we were equally affected by his tireless work ethics and his dedication to the construction of a program in the right way. It embraces the high expectations here in Maryland and we are all excited to start this new era in Maryland Basket.”
Williams’ intake comes two days after Kevin Willard has left Maryland and agreed to become The next coach of Villanova After the loss of terrapins in Florida in the Sweet 16.
