Masters 2025: because Rory Mcilroy “has never been in a better form” going to Augusta for the last inclination of history

Since Mcilroy has claimed the fourth major of his career – almost 11 years ago – there has been a fervent discussion on his chances of winning the masters to ensure a rare career “Grand Slam”.

Only five men completed the entire Masters collection, US PGA Championship, Open Championship and US Open Titles: Gene Sarazen, Ben Hogan, Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods.

Entering the 2015 Masters, Mcilroy was the overwhelming favorite to win the green jacket.

He had won Major Back-to-Back in 2014 at the Open and US PGA, having previously won the US Open 2011 and 2012 PGA.

Mcilroy has created six top-10s in Augusta in the last 10 years, but has not won another important from a compelling triumph in Valhalla.

Before his eleventh attempt at golf immortality, Mcilroy insists that “excitement exceeds the burden”.

“I understand the narrative and the noise,” he said.

“There are many previews and accumulation arriving in this tournament every year, but I just have to keep my head down and focus on my work.”
