Mehmet Oz confirmed by the American Senate to guide Medicare and Medicaid | Trump Administration

The former heart surgeon and television Pitchman Dr Mehmet Oz was confirmed on Thursday to guide the centers to medicate and Medicaid Services (CMS).
Oz became the agency administrator in one vote 53-45 of the party line.
The 64 -year -old will manage health insurance programs for about half of the country, with the supervision of the medicine coverage, Medicaid and Affordable Care Act. Turns on the new role as a congress is to discuss the cuts to the Medicoid program, which provides coverage to millions of poor and disabled Americans.
OZ has not yet said if it would have opposed these cuts to the program financed by the government, instead offering the vision of promoting healthier lifestyles, integrating artificial intelligence and telehealth in the system and rethinking rural health delivery.
During a hearing last month, he told the senators that he had favored the work requirements for the recipients of Medicaid, but that the waste should not be used to reaffirm that they are working or to block people to remain registered.
Oz, who has worked for years as a respected cardiac surgeon at Columbia University, has also noticed that doctors do not like medicoid for his relatively low payments and some do not want to take those patients.
He said that when Medicaid’s admissibility was expanded without improving resources for doctors, who made even thinner care options for core patients of the program, who include children, pregnant people and people with disabilities.
“We have to make some important decisions to improve the quality of the care,” he said.
Oz has made a close relationship with his new boss, Robert F Kennedy Jr. regularly hosted the secretary of health and his internal circle in his home in Florida. He leaned on the Kennedy campaign to “make America healthy again”, an effort to redesign the nation’s food supply, reject the mandates of vaccines and question some consolidated scientific research.
The former television conductor often speaks of the importance of a healthy diet, aligning in close contact with Kennedy’s opinions.

While Oz has faced some criticisms for the promotion of unremely demonstrated vitamin supplements and holistic treatments – staples of the “Maha Movement” – he regularly encouraged the Americans to be vaccinated.
OZ will take on the days of the CMS after the agency has been spared from the type of deep cuts that Kennedy has ordered in other public health agencies. Thousands of members of the Food and Drug Administration staff of the Centers for the control and prevention of diseases and the National Institutes for Health are out of work after the mass layoffs that started on Tuesday.
The CMS is expected to lose about 300 staff members, including those who have worked on the health of minorities and reduce the cost of the health care delivery.
