John Noble urged his new teammates of the Gold Coast not to be controlled by the vast surroundings of the MCG while trying to plant a flag on the sacred carpet against Melbourne.

Noble, who played 59 of his 112 games with Collingwood in the famous location, is one of the few alone with more than one handful of appearances at the home of football.

The MCG record of all times of the expansion club stands at 5-13 and have only one shot at the headquarters this season at home, facing demons on Saturday without victories and harmful.

“He has a stigma and a presence, the stadium himself,” Noble aap said.

“It might seem a bit funny, but when you are out there it is a lot above you.

“As the crowd accumulates, it becomes strong. Whether it is the case of the weekend or not, we will wait and see, but it is a large ground and can be intimidating.

“For some of these guys it is the second or third times that plays on the ‘g, so it is just about remaining calm and composed.”

Together with Noble, the former Speedster of Richmond Daniel Rioli (102) and the former wood collection Jarrod Witts (31) are the only Gold Coast players with more than 10 MCG appearances.

The 11 -year veteran Touk Miller and the former St Kilda Fondo striker (nine each) are also in single -digit counties.

In addition to a poor Mastro McG book, the Suns are out to reverse their overall transmission form after publishing a 2-9 record on the road in 2024.

“It was fantastic to get a victory against the Eagles and kick off our new campaign in our new era,” said Noble.

“Last year there was a lot of noise surrounding the record of our club and winning is always difficult, regardless of where it is.

“You have to play the best wherever you go, so it’s not really different for us.

“It’s always nice to play well at ‘g, don’t get me wrong, but we want to play our best football everywhere.”

Gold Coast (1-0) is also outside to take a series of 12-games defeats against Melbourne.

Another victory for the demons on Saturday would be equivalent to the longest series of active victories in the FL, held by Geelong on North Melbourne.

Noble expects a strong response from Melbourne (0-2) after they received a Thrashing of 59 points from the kangaroos in the second round.

“We know what Melbourne are capable of and they are a really strong race team,” said Noble.

“They wouldn’t be too happy with how they played last week, so we expect their best.”

The Suns received a push on Friday when the defender of Melbourne Jake Lever was excluded due to the rolled ankle that suffered against the kangaroos.

Melbourne’s coach Simon Goodwin was confident that the lever would be ready, but he retired painful after Thursday’s training.

Mac Andrew (chest), Sam Flanders (back) and Jed Walter (suspensions) return to Gold Coast, who lost Charlie Ballard (knee) and Ben Ainsworth (quad) for injuries and left Alex Sexton outside.

Steven May (Largen Frattured Laringe) and Jake MelkSham (Knee tendon) Melbourne’s inclusions upon return from the injury.

Aidan Johnson, Jack Billings and Harvey Langford have returned to Melbourne.
