Mike VRabel exhibits expectations for Patriots players under his guide


The New England Patriots have won six Super Bowl titles, but, in recent years, the Patriots have undergone more losses than the victories.

He also wants players to be punctual. If a player is late, VRabel ordered them to communicate. But he doesn’t even want him to become a habit.

Vrabel therefore asked the players to resist to pulling with hooded sweatshirts over his head during the meetings.

“We are building our identity,” said VRabel. “We are building our team. We are building our program. There will be things within what they are different … And it’s all about how we do the best as you can be an individual, as a player and as a team. This is all our goal, and you have to start understanding this – because we are doing what we are doing.”

VRabel also stressed that employees who work in the team headquarters are there to “help” players to be successful, but they are not the “rulers” of athletes.

“I’m here to help you do your job,” said VRabel. “I’m not here to be your waiter, to be your housekeeper, to be your butler. Arrivi where I’m going? We will treat those people with the utmost respect.”

The Patriots and Bill Belichick agreed to separate in January 2024 after the Patriots only appeared in a playoff game in the four seasons after the release of Tom Brady.

Shortly after the departure of Belichick, Jerrod Mayo was appointed head of the Patriots coach. Mayo was fired after the end of the 2024 season and VRabel took over. VRabel was the Tennessee Titans’ Head Coach since 2018-23 and spent the 2024 season as a consultant with Cleveland Browns.
