Monte Carlo Masters: Jack Draper Out after loss of the third round against Alejandro Davidovich Fokina

Clay was not previously the favorite surface of Draper but, after receiving a farewell in the first round, his performance against American Marcos Giron in the second round showed promises.
The British number one was not at its best in the opening set against Davidovich Fokina, reproaching in everything with the shouts of “Wake Up” and enters “in an attempt to increase his energy.
However, that form dragged into the second set, with Draper hit three double defects on his way to be broken in the opening game.
Following a set and a break, Draper’s fortunes changed when he hit an ace to keep the service after saving two pause points, lifting his arms in relief before playing a nice return game to break 3-3.
He saved a game point on the road to force a draw and ensured a decisive set with a splendid cross exam.
The couple exchanged breaks in a third series of changing momentum, but Draper fought to run his possibilities, converting only two of his nine pause points, while the 42nd place of Davidovich Fokina converted all three of his opportunities.
The second seed Carlos Alcaraz faces the German Daniel Altmaier later late on Thursday, with Dani MEDVEDEV and Matteo Berrettini also in action.
